Nürnberg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

A striking round tower that once formed part of Nuremberg’s late medieval fortifications. Built in the 14th century, it guarded the western Spittlertor gate and today stands as a reminder of the city’s strong defensive walls. Its massive stone construction and conical roof make it one of the most recognizable towers along the historic wall, offering a vivid glimpse into Nuremberg’s role as a fortified imperial city.

this is my favorite structure here at Nuremburg. it blends the beauty from the east, and then it is a western ..... it looks magnificent and artistic. the intricate design of spacing between the posts at the top and the wooden roof, adds to the masonry tower. it suppress any structure there at the castle

Spittlertor Gate Tower is an old city gate found in the southwest corner of the city centre. It is one of four main round towers of the Nuremburg Fortifications and is in impressive landmark to see while viewing or walking around the old City Wall. The gate tower was originally built in the 14th-century and was restored on several occasions over the centuries. It served as a bunker during WWII and was converted into the Garrison Military Museum in 2006. It is in good condition and makes for an impressive view and part of the city fortifications during the Middle Ages.
