Came here on a Wednesday post 5:30 pm (cause entry is free). Despite having a good chunk of exhibits under renovation, the museum has a lot to see - I could brush through the place in 2.5 hours covering only 2 out of the 3 floors, and only spent a good amount of time at the Behaim Globe display, which has an insightful interactive touchscreen info kiosk. The museum captures every detail of the German region right from the Stone Age. The exhibits are well maintained but the place is a labyrinth - take a map at the main desk or even an audio guide for ease of navigation. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here!

My absolute favorite museum of all-time and a must for anyone traveling to Nuremberg. I loved this gem so much, I went twice during my trip. For 10 euros, you can easily spend 4 to 5 hours, fully experiencing everything the Germanisches Nationalmuseum has to offer. My favorite exhibits included the Middle Ages, Arms and Armor, and the Renaissance. Your mileage may vary based on interest. That said, I enjoyed every nook and cranny of this beautifully designed museum. I recommend reviewing the map and planning your strategy for each section and transitioning to other exhibits. The layout can feel like a labyrinth at times. On my second visit, I discovered areas I never noticed the first time. Take your time and enjoy.

Admission is free on Wednesdays from 17:30 onwards. Bring your headphones, connect to the museum's free WiFi and scan the QR code opposite the ticket desk to enjoy the guided tour in German or English. ☺️👌🏼 It's a fascinating museum with lots to see, so make sure you allow plenty of time to explore all the galleries!

Absolutely wonderful museum with a fantastic collection that covers all kinds of periods and subjects across Germany's history. I had only planned to look around for an hour or two, but ended up spending most of the day there as it was so engaging. What's more, is that (at least when I was there) it was wonderfully quiet and I could enjoy the full museum in peace and contemplation. I walked through entire exhibits and saw only a handful of other people, if I saw anyone at all. It was a truly excellent museum and I highly recommend it.

A must when in this beautiful city. There are so many things to see here, you can easily spend 4 hours browsing through all the galleries. A fun day with the family is guaranteed. Young or old, they will equally find this place amazing.
