München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

This is my favourite museum in Munich which I highly recommend for local German speakers. Funny and cultivating if you want to learn more about Bavaria in the 20’s and 30’s. However would be a waste of money and time as a non German speaker or tourist. Nice to combine it with the lovely Christmas market in December under the Isar Tower and by the way check out the inverted clock from Tal street when you leave.

Super informative and interesting layout, well worth a visit. The café at the top serves wonderful cake and a good coffee too.

I like this museum and everything that is comedy. There is also very nice cafe upstairs. When you get there it seems that you turned on time machine and went back in time 100 years ago.

This is a wonderful visit to a historical past to Liesel Karlstadt and Karl Valentin. On the top floor is a small restaurant packed with many memorabilia of the past. At only 3Euro entry, it is certainly worth a visit at least once in your life

This museum about a German comedian is a fun place to go to. Definitely worth a visit if your German is good enough. If not, you might enjoy the Turmstüberl - one of the most original places in Munich. Have a beer, coffee, cake or whatever up there and enjoy a taste of medieval Germany for a decent price.
