München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

This is for the City walk tour: Info center: Opening and closing times and days are very restricted and limited for a 'tourist town', so if you're on a tight schedule, make sure they are open. The young/middle aged man with round glasses (sorry did not get his name) spoke excellent english, was very helpful and clear. We got our walking tour tickets (22€ for 3 hours - reasonable) and instructions where to meet. Walking tour: Met at proper time and was punctual (duh, it's Germany). The good was the basic knowledge of the Marienplatz and Palace and other buildings and plazas. The bad was delving anything deeper. The guide (Danielle - american ex-pat) seemed to be limited in most anything outside of 'city tour' such as incorrect answer to why everyone waits for the green crossing, even if no car is anywhere nearby (the explanation was 'we' take care of our children who walk to school, unlike Americans who only use school buses - implying that Americans don't take care of their children!) Turns out, it is illegal in Munich to cross without the green crossing sign. Another example was no knowledge of Catholicism (even she called the Cathedral "our Cathedral"). She didn't even know

We had booked a bus tour for Neuschwanstein & Linderhof Castle Day Tour. Was great and thoroughly enjoyed it. Always be sure to be on time for the bus. Also went back for Munich Passes and the gentleman assisted again and was terrific. He made sure to answer all our questions even when I went back for further clarification. I also went back for a few additional inquiries and the other people were very helpful. Amazing staff and extremely helpful in English! Thank you from Canada!

Enjoyed the tour with Josh a ton! He indulged in as much detail as possible within the 3 hour window. He was deeply passionate and knowledgeable about the history of the Third Reich. Would 100% recommend to others!
