München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

This is hands-down one of the best botanical museums I have ever been to! I especially fell in love with the wet/humid and dry section, where you can find dozens of exotic and interesting species. It is clear that is well-maintained. We bought tickets earlier but the line is not long if you just show up on a weekday.

The Botanischer Garten München is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places to visit in the city. The gardens are exceptionally well maintained, with an impressive collection of plants, flowers, and trees from around the world. Every season offers something unique, making it a wonderful destination for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to relax. The greenhouses are particularly impressive, showcasing tropical, desert, and exotic plants in beautifully designed environments. Walking through them feels like traveling across different climates without leaving Munich. The pathways are spacious and easy to explore, with plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the surroundings. The garden is quiet, clean, and perfect for a leisurely stroll, a family outing, or simply escaping the city’s busy atmosphere. The staff are friendly, and the entrance fee is very reasonable considering the size and quality of the garden. There’s also a lovely café where you can enjoy refreshments while overlooking the beautiful landscape. Overall, Botanischer Garten München is a true hidden gem and one of the city’s best attractions. Whether you’re interested in botany or simply want a peaceful

Very beautiful gardens. They give you a detailed map on the entrance. We didn't go in the palace cuz a friend of mine told us it's not worth it. For a full round walk it took us 2 hours. The entrance fee was something like 5 euro. I enjoyed the place - would recommend.

This place is huge and so well maintained. We entered through the North gates and spent hours wandering through all the sections. The buildings inside the entrance were the most unique with each large greenhouse containing plants from a specific part of the world. It was quite warm and humid in some but the plants obviously needed that. We also got a chance to swing by the lake in the West side of the ground where there was a section dedicated to the Canadian Rockies. I can't imagine the work that goes into maintaining a place like this but kudos to all the staff. A must for you flower lovers.

We really enjoyed coming here - it was a surprise hit. The greenhouse is the main attraction, full of beautiful plans (and turtles and butterflies) from many area. The greenhouse is divided into 7 different climate-controlled areas, which allows the flora and fauna to flourish. The outside grounds were great to tour, though when we went it was quite cold and hard to adequately see everything.
