Die Weißwurst in Schwabing ist weit mehr als ein Denkmal … sie ist eine Hommage an bayerische Tradition, Lebensart und Genusskultur. Mit beeindruckender Präsenz erhebt sie sich als Symbol Münchens und zieht Einheimische wie Besucher gleichermaßen in ihren Bann. Schon beim ersten Anblick wird klar: Hier steht nicht einfach nur eine überdimensionale Weißwurst. Hier steht ein Monument, das Geschichte, Identität und Stolz verkörpert. In ihrer Form vereint sie alles, wofür Bayern steht. Bodenständigkeit, Handwerkskunst und eine fast schon legendäre Standhaftigkeit. Besonders bemerkenswert ist die Tatsache, dass dieses Wahrzeichen sogar eingezäunt wurde. Das aus gutem Grund. Der Andrang und die Begeisterung rund um dieses Denkmal wurden wohl so groß, dass ein Schutz notwendig wurde. Die Umzäunung wirkt dabei nicht wie eine Barriere, sondern vielmehr wie ein Zeichen der Wertschätzung: Sie verleiht der Weißwurst eine beinahe ehrfürchtige Aura, als würde sie einen Schatz bewachen.
