München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

This stop wasn’t even planned on our trip today but once we entered the town square we decided to go up into the town for the view of the city. The architecture was so astonishingly detailed and unique. We purchased tickets right at the elevator before going up, no wait. I really appreciate that most places we’ve been only charge for the adults and not the children so it’s been fantastic visiting each place as we have 6 little boys with us. Everyone enjoyed the view, we didn’t spend much time up in the tower but it was worth it.

Beautiful views from the observation deck, you can take the lift up to the top. Bit cramped at times but worth the views!

A truly impressive place, full of atmosphere, bars and culture. The town hall clock, although very precarious and simple, is worth seeing considering it has been running non-stop for years. Eating around the square is not recommended as everything is expensive and the quality is disappointing. However, a visit to the city centre is a must!

I highly recommend going to the top of the tower of this amazing and beautiful structure. The views are wonderful and the architecture is striking. Danke Sehr!

You can go up to the tower of the New Town Hall by 2 consecutive elevators as well as stairs at some part of it. You can buy ticket at the entrance which is in the courtyard on the left or also get online. Tickets are €6.50. As long as you reached at the top platform, the view is beautiful and breathtaking. Even I visited at noon but thinking what would be view especially at sunset 😍. It’s like one of must visiting place in Munich so careful because many people are visiting the tower, so queues at the elevator are frequent. Better to visit early time for less crowd. It’s not only the tower but I love the mesmerising beauty of Town Hall building with wonderful detailed work.
