Beautiful monument in the center of Königsplatz. Passed through on the way to and from the Lenbachhaus art gallery. Be sure to look up and take in the intricate sculptural work on the columns and ceiling! On the far walls, messages in Greek tell of the history of the edifice.

One of the old city gates dating back to 1862 and built in a Greek style. A nice place to visit to see some of the history of Munich. It is located in Konigsplatz just a short trip from the city center by underground. It is opposite a couple of museums where there are plenty of seating areas to relax and admire the city gates.
