About Münchener Tierpark Hellabrunn

Münchener Tierpark Hellabrunn is a park in München, Bayern. It is listed at Tierparkstraße 30, 81543 München-Untergiesing-Harlaching, which places it among the local businesses of München that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as sehenswürdigkeit, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

For a night out or a family day in München, venues like this one are best checked for opening times and events on the day itself, since programmes change. The season matters: beer gardens open from April into October, Christmas markets run through Advent, and open-air cinemas and festivals fill the summer. U-Bahn and S-Bahn services run through the night at weekends in the big cities, with night buses elsewhere, so plan the trip home.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 9 am–6 pm. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 089 625080. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, hellabrunn.de.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 41,771 reviews, which is a strong result for a park in München and suggests consistent service.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

We took the kids for an outing and surprisingly we adults enjoyed it just as much. The chimpanzees, gorillas and the orangutangs was my favorite while a capibara was the surprise animal. Would have like to see some wolves but I suppose they were taking their daytime nap. Food snd drinks were exceptionally expensive, so rather pack a picnic basket and relax with your own (wider) 'buffet'. The zoo is really worth a visit. Ticketwise, go for a family ticket, it is much more ecomical.

The zoo is very clean, well maintained and beautifully organised. There is plenty to see, and the animals appear to be well cared for. They have a lot of space, and their enclosures are spacious, clean, well designed and very suitable for their needs. There are cafés and food stalls throughout the zoo, so refreshments are always nearby. As a useful tip, I recommend bringing your own drinks, as a 0.5-litre bottle of water costs around €4. Overall, it is a very enjoyable zoo with plenty to see and a great choice for a family day out.

We went there on a Sunday with my 2 year old daughter. And it was super fun to walk around and see all the animals, birds. They also have a nice food stops created. However little on the expensive side. Overall, seeing the lions, giraffe, Penguins, chimpanzees, was very much fun. We entered from the flamingo gate side. Beautiful time out for family.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hellabrunn Zoo is one of the best zoos we've visited! The park is spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained, with large enclosures that give the animals plenty of space. There is a great variety of animals from all over the world, and it's clear that their welfare is a priority. The zoo is well organized, easy to walk around, and perfect for families, couples, or anyone who enjoys nature and wildlife. There are plenty of places to rest, grab a snack, and spend a relaxing day. You can easily spend a whole day here without getting bored. We had a fantastic time and would definitely visit again. If you're in Munich, Hellabrunn Zoo is absolutely worth adding to your itinerary!

Brilliant zoo about 15 mins drive from the town centre. Lots of educational information and buildings to explore. A wide range of animals to see many of which were very active. Spent around 6 -7 hours there. Went on a Saturday but wasn't overcrowded and plenty of space to move around. Dogs are welcome though not allowed in certain exhibits
