When booking accommodation or travel services in Germany, confirm the check-in window, whether the rate includes breakfast and the local city tax (Kurtaxe or Bettensteuer), and what the cancellation terms are; pensions and Gasthöfe are often family-run and appreciate notice. Reviews that mention noise, bed size, Wi-Fi and cleanliness are usually the most useful. Prices jump around trade fairs, the Christmas markets, Oktoberfest and the summer school holidays, so book early for those dates.

No opening hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times, and remember that most shops in Germany close on Sundays and public holidays. The listed phone number is 089 21250. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is kempinski.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 3,201 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded hotels in München.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

One of the redecorated historical establishments equipped with modern facilities. Deco is classic and stylish. Service is au point and attentive. Buffet breakfast is a proper meal in itself. Smallish gym but makes up with its proximity to the English garden which is 5 mins of walk away. Also 5 mins away is the city center and the subway station. Room is tiny but adequate. Bed and pillows are too soft though.

We had a wonderful time at the VIer Jahreszeiten Munich, the staff was extremely friendly and did everything to make us feel welcome and taken care of. The room was spacious and the rainfall shower was a real highlight. You have everything you would expect in a modern hotel room, including streaming. The only thing we would have loved is having a kettle in the room by default. That being said, it took about five minutes to have one delivered to our door, free of charge of course :) The food was fantastic all around, from breakfast, lunch, cake and dinner at the restaurant "Schwarzreiter", the lobby and the "Vier Jahreszeiten Bar". To give an example of the level of detail applied by staff: When I ordered coffee for breakfast the immediate question was: filtered or crema? Very much appriciated that! The gym has everything one could wish for (Technogym equipment, well maintained). The spa might not be the biggest, but it does the trick in this city center location and the sunset views from the spa terrace were spectacular. To summarize. Thank you for creating an extraordinary experience for us. We will visit again when coming back to Munich.

We were traveling across Swiss & Germany and stayed here for three nights. It was my first time using Kempinski brand, and I had high expectations as this location had good reviews compared to its 5 star competitors. Rooms: a bit on the smaller side, but spacious enough to put our luggage down. The single sink felt a bit cramped but the shower was spacious and I was very satisfied with the Diptyque amenities. The housekeeping staff was great and kept was feeling refreshed each day. Food: slow service at the bar, but the breakfast buffet was spectacular. I was very happy with the bread, cheese, and drink options. Location: it’s a nice area close to all the tourist spots and shopping areas. Service: I think service was a bit poorer than some other properties I’ve been to. The wait at reception was long at both the check-in and check-out. There was no help offered with luggage despite many staircase between entrance (the doors which I had to open myself) and elevators. Our check in staff was very helpful, but I must say I was disappointed by the check out process. When asked to clarify the bill, the person was cold and impatient, not what I expect from other luxury properties. Ov
