When booking accommodation or travel services in Germany, confirm the check-in window, whether the rate includes breakfast and the local city tax (Kurtaxe or Bettensteuer), and what the cancellation terms are; pensions and Gasthöfe are often family-run and appreciate notice. Reviews that mention noise, bed size, Wi-Fi and cleanliness are usually the most useful. Prices jump around trade fairs, the Christmas markets, Oktoberfest and the summer school holidays, so book early for those dates.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Rented apartment that is located across the street from the hotel but is part of the hotel. The apartment is spacious. It has kitchen, with stove, dish washer, and refrigerator. With some plates, silverware, and most important wine glasses. It has a combined sitting room, with TV, and king size bed. The bathroom is located across the hall but is part of apartment. Bonus: a deck off the kitchen with table and chairs. Great for having wine or beer after a busy day touring. Housekeeping is top notch. They makeup room daily and refurbish the fridge each day with free water, free beer, and free Coke zero. The apartment is absolutely quiet even the deck. I've enjoyed the stay at Deutsche Eiche and would stay again when I return to Munich. It is a great location walkable to Old Town and all the must see sites. Also there are restaurants near the hotel which are worth visiting.

I went to Munich on a solo trip recently & stayed at this accommodation & I can’t speak highly enough of this place. To say it is a 3 star hotel, the rooms are actually beautiful, so clean & very cosy. Air conditioning is also excellent & the bed is very comfy. I am a very well travelled girl & as far as 3 star hotels go, this was the best. The location is absolutely perfect, with Marienplatz less than a 10 minute walk away. Housekeeping is excellent, with cleaners in the room every single day. I have nothing negative to say, because this hotel really highly impressed me. I will be returning to Munich again next year with a friend & I won’t hesitate to book here again.

recently spent a night at this hotel and found it to be a very practical, comfortable base for exploring the city. The absolute best thing about this property is the location. You are right in the city centre, making it incredibly easy to walk to major sights like Marienplatz, the Viktualienmarkt, and the famous beer gardens. Getting to and from the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) is also a breeze, which was a huge plus for my travel schedule. My room was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfortable after a long day of sightseeing. However, it is worth noting that the rooms are on the smaller side. If you are traveling with large luggage or prefer a lot of extra space to spread out, it might feel a bit tight. The bathroom was functional .The staff at the front desk were friendly enough when I checked in and out. Overall, it’s a perfectly fine place to stay. It doesn't offer any luxurious extras or "wow" moments, but it delivers exactly what you need in terms of a central, clean, and reliable place to sleep. I would recommend it to anyone who plans to spend most of their time out in the city and just needs a convenient, fuss-free hotel to return to at night.
