We had a very pleasant stay at Holiday Inn Express Munich West and would recommend it to travellers looking for a comfortable hotel with excellent transport connections. The location is one of the biggest advantages of this hotel. It is located right next to Hirschgarten S-Bahn station, providing easy access to trains and making it very convenient to explore Munich. Despite being so close to the railway lines, the soundproofing was excellent, and we were not disturbed by any train noise during our stay. Marienplatz is only five train stops away, and Munich Hauptbahnhof (main train station) is just three stops away, making it easy to reach the city’s main attractions. The room was clean and comfortable, although it was smaller compared to the room we had in another Holiday Inn Express property in Berlin. We also missed having ironing facilities in the room, which would have been useful for travellers. As with other Holiday Inn Express hotels, the complimentary buffet breakfast was included and offered a good variety of choices. Stayed at Holiday Inn Munich - City West and overall had a comfortable stay. The hotel itself is very nice, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. A major advantage is being located right next to the station, making it easy to travel into Munich. However, the surrounding area is quite limited. Apart from an Aldi and a small grocery store, there’s very little nearby in terms of bars, restaurants, or nightlife. After quite a long walk, the only nearby bar found was very small and cash only. Taxi prices were also expensive — around €130 from the airport and roughly €40 into central Munich. Breakfast was decent but fairly basic, mainly breads, meats, and continental options, with no bacon or sausages available during the stay. The rooms also became quite warm at times. Overall, a good hotel with excellent staff and comfortable rooms, but the location may not suit those looking for nearby entertainment or dining options.
