München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

The stay at Flemings Hotel was very pleasant. The staff were lovely and the rooms were clean. The location was good, right by the train station. We would recommend the hotel and would definitely stay again. Many thanks for us Ingibjörg Lúcia and family

The breakfast is absolutely delicious. It’s well-balanced, with lovely tea and some unusual white sausages. The rooms are air-conditioned, but as the summer heat gets more intense every year, I think it would be even better if there were a refrigerator to keep drinks cool.

Not the worst hotel, but very far from the best. The positives are the staff, who are lovely and helpful, and the location is good - it's in a nice area and has easy transport links to the rest of the city. It's not the easiest to reach from the airport by public transport (takes around 1 hour at least). The room had a good TV that allowed streaming. Wifi was quite fast. The negatives: my room was very dark (had no proper lighting, only some dim lamps), the room was VERY dusty, the bathroom was dirty - the sink had not been cleaned, there were dirty marks on the wall near the toilet, and everything was very tired and shabby. The bed was clearly very old, the mattress was super soft and saggy in the middle, and the single pillow was small and thin. The sheets had been washed but were covered in small stains. Housekeeping is only every other day, which is fine, except that they don't seem to do anything...my toilet was not cleaned, the room was still super dusty, and the sheets on the bed were not changed. The person who was doing the housekeeping was also very rude to me on the day of checkout, knocking on my door several times asking me to leave (long before the checkout time). T
