When booking accommodation or travel services in Germany, confirm the check-in window, whether the rate includes breakfast and the local city tax (Kurtaxe or Bettensteuer), and what the cancellation terms are; pensions and Gasthöfe are often family-run and appreciate notice. Reviews that mention noise, bed size, Wi-Fi and cleanliness are usually the most useful. Prices jump around trade fairs, the Christmas markets, Oktoberfest and the summer school holidays, so book early for those dates.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This is, without a doubt, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The moment we walked in, we were hit by a terrible smell. Then we noticed greasy stains all over the door of our room, which was located right next to the kitchen. The floor was covered in dust and dirt, even though check-in was after 3:00 p.m. It honestly looked like the room had not been cleaned at all. The bed sheets and duvet were stained, some with what looked like grease, and the towels were filthy. There was no air conditioning in the room, making it almost impossible to sleep, and the refrigerator was set to 7°C, so we couldn't even have a cold bottle of water. Paying €370 for three nights for these conditions is absolutely outrageous. This hotel should be ashamed of charging that kind of money while offering such poor hygiene and comfort. After a while, I understood why most of the guests seemed to be construction workers or other laborers. But regardless of who the guests are, everyone deserves a clean, comfortable room and basic respect. Save your money and stay in a hostel instead. It will almost certainly be cleaner, more comfortable, and a much better experience than this hotel.

Away from the city centre, the only bus connection you have is two per hour, I booked a studio with kitchen and when I arrived it's only after a Reclaim I've got 1 plate and a pot. Double room meaning two singles beds

DO NOT GO THERE AS A SOLO TRAVELLING WOMAN!!!!! Insects all over the hotel, especially in the private bathroom that I rented together with the room. Dirt everywhere in the room — for example, the stove, kitchen walls, mattress, sheets, microwave, and bathroom floor. Strong smell of cigarettes and a generally bad odor in the room. This hotel had the worst atmosphere I’ve ever experienced as a woman who enjoys traveling alone — the hotel lobby was full of men drinking and talking loudly, and I didn’t feel safe at all. Very poor security — they didn’t even ask for my ID at check-in or at any other point during my stay. Rude staff who didn’t even ask why I was checking out early or show any concern when I said I couldn’t stand staying another day in the room; they just took the card as if they were already expecting this to happen. The photos shown on Booking do not match reality.

A place worth to stay…. Away from. We booked the hotel for 4 nights for the Oktoberfest. We arrived on Friday morning and my wife had to work, so we planned to work at the hotel room. Once we entered the room was incredibly dirty at first sight. There were food leftovers, stains in the bathroom and the walls. I was brave enough to try to “clean” the toilet with the brush and it started removing the dirtiness which means it was not cleaned at all. We went out for lunch and after coming back we complained and agreed on staying only one night and the gave us back the money. However an hour later they were at the room door knocking hard, I opened the door and the guy from the front desk was asking me to go downstairs at that second, while I was asking him to speak softly as my wife was in a virtual meeting, but the guy continued increasing his voice and became rude until I had no more option to go an pay for the night. At the end the level of frustration and I would say disgust made us leave after 2 hours. Worst hotel experience in my life.
