About Deutsches Museum
Vor mehr als 100 Jahren gegründet, beherbergt das Deutsche Museum heute an fünf Orten eine der größten und bedeutendsten naturwissenschaftlich-technischen Sammlungen.
Deutsches Museum is a museen in München, Bayern. It is listed at Museumsinsel 1, 80538 München, which places it among the local businesses of München that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. For a night out or a family day in München, venues like this one are best checked for opening times and events on the day itself, since programmes change. The season matters: beer gardens open from April into October, Christmas markets run through Advent, and open-air cinemas and festivals fill the summer. U-Bahn and S-Bahn services run through the night at weekends in the big cities, with night buses elsewhere, so plan the trip home.
Opening hours are published for 2 days a week. On most of those days it is open 09:00–17:00. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 2179333. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is deutsches-museum.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 44,093 reviews, which is a strong result for a museen in München and suggests consistent service.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Really good museum and definitely worth visiting if you’re interested in science, engineering or technology. The staff at the ticket counter were very friendly, and one of them even asked if we were students in case we could get a reduced ticket. Most of the exhibits have English explanations, so it was easy to follow. There’s a huge amount to see: aircraft parts, engines, motors, turbines, power plants, robots, agriculture, health, sustainability, trains, architecture, space and the moon landing, Enigma machines and much more. The only thing we couldn’t really follow was one science programme that was only in German. A lot of effort has gone into making the exhibits interactive, and it works well for both children and adults. I only wish the robot section had more hands-on interaction instead of mostly display pieces. The museum is easy to move around with stairs, lifts and accessible routes. There are toilets, a small café for refreshments, a larger café for meals, and lockers big enough for backpacks. The lockers need a €1 coin, which you get back afterward. It’s also easy to reach from Isartor station. Give yourself at least 4–5 hours if you want to explore it properly with

As an aerospace enthusiast, I really enjoyed the static and interactive displays on three different levels! The wide variety of other themes covered in the museum is very good. It includes things like Music, Chemistry, Images, etc. Regrettably, the naval & shipping section is closed for two years (if I understood correctly).

A lot to see! We didn’t buy tickets in advance and went straight through - this was around 11am. We could see a big queue as we were leaving so if you’re going in the afternoon better to buy in advance. The museum was massive with so much to see - we didn’t managed to do it all even after 2-3 hours. You could easily spend a full day here. Some exhibits were interactive which was fun.

Really good science museum. There are so many things to explore and learn. You need to be organised and prepared in advanced. However, there are so many areas to be improved as Germany is a country with full of technologies. As an example, there is almost nothing about locomotive technology, nothing much about biology, nothing much on nanotec, atomic technology etc. I enjoyed and gained so much of knowledge!

This is the most amazing and educational museum I have ever visited. It’s perfect for children over 3 years old. My 3-year-old and I had such a wonderful time exploring together. Our favorite parts were the robots, airplanes, transportation exhibits, the math section, and the educational playground on the ground floor. Everything is interactive, engaging, and thoughtfully designed for young children. We learned so much while having fun. Highly recommended for families!”
