About BMW Museum

Entertainment and cultural venues fill up at weekends, on public holidays and during school holidays, so check opening times and book tickets ahead where possible. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is bmw-welt.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

An outstanding museum and an absolute must for anyone interested in cars, engineering or design. The BMW Museum presents the company’s history beautifully, with an impressive collection of classic vehicles, motorcycles, racing cars and technological innovations. The exhibitions are modern, spacious and exceptionally well organised, making it easy to follow BMW’s development through the decades. Even visitors who are not devoted car enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy in the architecture, design and stories behind the vehicles. Allow at least a couple of hours to explore properly, and combine it with BMW Welt across the road. One of the highlights of our time in Munich and thoroughly deserving of five stars.

The BMW Museum is exceptionally well-curated and a high-quality experience. Even if you aren't a massive car enthusiast, the blend of history, engineering, and futuristic design is incredibly engaging. The architectural layout of the "Museum Bowl" is a masterpiece in itself, leading you seamlessly through over a century of innovation. From the vintage aircraft engines and iconic motorcycles to the concept cars, the displays are pristine. The staff are very welcoming, and the entire facility is spotless. Highly recommend leaving at least 2 hours to fully take it all in

As a car lover, the BMW Museum was one of the highlights of my trip. If you're passionate about cars, this place is a must-visit. It's amazing to see BMW's history, iconic models, concept cars, and the latest innovations all in one place. Every section is beautifully designed and tells the story of the brand. I really enjoyed exploring the exhibits and could have spent hours there. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves automobiles or is visiting Munich. If you have some luck in the evening you may get some discount for the entry pass.

Such a great place to visit. Do the tour. So you have to buy tickets in advance. I am not a car person but I loved learning the history. There are lockers to store your backpacks because they are not allow in the museum. The cafe is spacious with outlets to charge your phone. Its very easy to get with public transportation.
