München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I will start with one word, "exceptional". The front desk staff went above and beyond in delivering customer service. First impressions matter. I was warmly welcomed with a smile upon arriving, and the check-in process was effortless. I found the staff members to be knowledgeable, patient and professional. I have stayed at several hostels in the past, and I can honestly say that A&O Hostel Laim is ranked as one of my top picks. The cleaning crew and maintenance staff are also worth mentioning. Everything in my six bed dorm was operational. The dorm room was brightly lit, spacious and refreshed with ample linen and plenty of toiletries. I noticed that the interior and external grounds of the facility were maintained, and there were a variety of restaurants, grocery stores and a busline within walking distance. Thank you A&O Laim for a pleasant experience.

Great hostel! Staff very friendly and all speak excellent English. Very happy to help with everything. Rooms are comfortable but can get quite hot and the hostel is a bit out of the way so you will need to take a tram into the centre. The bar has an excellent selection of drinks and is very aesthetic. I want a special shout to Ameen who was kind and understanding remembering all drink orders and giving excellent German beer recommendations for a English larger only drinker, lovely atmosphere and music in bar also

Ameen was the best part of this hotel He made this place feel a bit more like I was home with his bubbly personality and he’s company. He is easy to communicate with and overall the best drink maker there is. Wouldn’t have wanted any other bartender behind the bar. Thank you Ameen
