Hotel Roter Löwe

Secure parking for bikes in a lock up. Friendly helpful staff at the reception. Our room was spacious, had night shutters over the windows, a modern bathroom with bath and modern fit out. Sauna with towels, shower, herbal tea. Swimming pool with massage jets. Top location. Quality breakfast.

If you hate service, this is the place to go. The staff makes you feel like it’s an inconvenience if you are trying to talk to them. They are also really unhelpful and grumpy. The rooms are fairly clean and the furniture is alright. The bathroom has a little mold but apart from that it’s small and clean. The breakfast is nothing special apart for the waffles. The waffles are amazing. The food in the restaurant is quite good. The service is as bad as in the hotel.

The hotel is a solid city option in a really good location, everything is within walking distance to the center. Rooms are clean and beds comfortable, but some areas feel a bit dated and bathrooms can be quite small. Breakfast is one of the stronger points with a good variety.

As a family of 3 we chose the family room and it was great. Everyone had their own little space to wind down and relax. The pool was a plus if you are traveling with kids. There is a restaurant attached with authentic German foods as well as American style. All in all a very cozy and welcoming place to stay in the heart of the city.
