For public services in Bayern, confirm which office handles your matter and what to bring before you travel, since the Bürgeramt, the Ausländerbehörde and the Finanzamt deal with different paperwork. Stations and airports post timetables on site and in the DB Navigator app, and it is wise to allow extra time at the start of the school holidays and around Christmas, when the whole country is on the move.
Opening hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 9 am–5:30 pm. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Nürnberg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

St. Lorenz Church is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Nuremberg. The stunning Gothic architecture and peaceful atmosphere make it a must see. Around the church, there are plenty of restaurants and food stalls offering Mediterranean, Turkish, and many other international cuisines, so there's something for everyone. I enjoyed a delicious spicy currywurst while exploring the area, and it was one of the highlights of my visit. It's also fun to walk past the nearby Rolex boutiques and luxury stores, which add to the vibrant city center atmosphere. A perfect place to enjoy history, food, and shopping all in one visit!

St. Lorenz Church is an absolute must-see for anyone visiting Nuremberg. Its enormous size is impressive, but the real value of this church lies in the extraordinary richness of its interior. The building brings together several centuries of history. The Romanesque origins, Gothic nave, magnificent Late Gothic hall choir, medieval sculptures, stained-glass windows, historic epitaphs, and later additions create an interior in which different artistic periods coexist rather than simply replacing one another. Among the highlights are the famous Annunciation by Veit Stoss, dramatically suspended above the choir, and the intricate stone Sacrament House by Adam Kraft. It is also worth paying attention to the medieval stained glass, the vaulted ceilings, the numerous sculptures, and the smaller details donated by wealthy citizens of Nuremberg over the centuries. The church was badly damaged during the Second World War and later carefully reconstructed, which adds another important historical layer to the building. This is not a place to visit in ten minutes. I would recommend allowing at least half an hour, and preferably closer to an hour, to explore the interior properly. There is si

St. Lorenz Church (Lorenzer Platz) is one of Nuremberg's most magnificent Gothic churches. Built around 1250, the church is particularly renowned for its outstanding works of art—such as the tabernacle by Adam Kraft and the Annunciation by Veit Stoß—as well as its enormous organ. Visiting hours: Monday to Saturday 9:00–17:30, Sunday 13:00–15:30. Services: The main service is on Sundays at 10:00. Admission: Free.

Steeped in medieval grandeur, St. Lorenz Church has stood as a spiritual anchor of Nuremberg since the 13th century. As one of the city’s most prominent Lutheran sanctuaries, it serves as a living chronicle of Franconian history and faith. Architecturally, it is a breathtaking masterpiece of High Gothic design, renowned for its twin towering spires, a magnificent rose window, and an intricate interior featuring Veit Stoss’s suspended wood carving, the Angelic Salutation. Stepping outside, the church overlooks bustling squares filled with lively markets, historic fountains, and beautiful half-timbered facades, blending sacred serenity with vibrant urban life. Ultimately, St. Lorenz is more than a monument of stone; it is a testament to human resilience. Restored lovingly after the devastations of World War II, its enduring silhouette reminds us of humanity's unyielding capacity to rebuild, find hope, and preserve beauty across generations.

Visiting St. Lorenz Church was a wonderful experience and one of the most memorable parts of my time in Nuremberg. The church's impressive Gothic architecture immediately caught my attention, while the beautiful stained-glass windows and intricate interior details created a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere. I spent some time admiring the craftsmanship and quiet surroundings, which offered a welcome escape from the busy city streets outside. Whether you're interested in history, architecture, or simply looking for a serene place to reflect, St. Lorenz is definitely worth a visit.

13th-century Gothic vibes. 🏰 The Highlights: The mind-blowing tabernacle sculpture (it climbs all the way to the ceiling) and the giant rose window. Pro Tip: Grab a traditional Nuremberg bratwurst nearby, then sit on the steps outside to people-watch. It’s the perfect centerpiece of the city.

the video mapping material ruins the mood and looks of a beautiful church. money is important to keep the church i understand that. but shows no respect to a cult place . a church not a shopping mall. beautiful art and paintings blocked by metal boxes and cables... in entrance a big and colorfull kiosk to sell tikets to the show . amazing how you can put such horible thing in an historical rich place. perfect disney land.
