My family (including child) went for dinner. It was a pretty setting near central Cologne. My daughter and I had the small spaetzel (surprisingly big!) and a side salad were house dressing. Both were delicious! My husband ordered the summer burger special, which came with a burger sauce that was very good. For dessert, we split the small kaiserschmarrn with raisins and ice cream. It was all good, and we said the ice cream served with it was the best vanilla ice cream we’d ever had. Our server was Dado, and he was great! We don’t speak German, but he was able to help us still. At the end, he brought us some hazelnut shots and a sucker for our daughter. It was a great experience, and I highly recommend a visit!

What a wonderful dining experience at Servus Colonia Alpina! We sat outside in the beautiful plaza and enjoyed a relaxed evening atmosphere. I ordered the schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce, and it was outstanding—crispy, flavorful, and generously portioned. The frites that came with it were excellent, and we paired the meal with a Franziskaner beer, which was the perfect complement. We also ordered two side salads. While not large, they were fresh, delicious, and an incredible value for less than €6 each. A special thank you to our server, Armin, who took great care of us throughout the evening. He was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Great food, great service, excellent value, and a lovely setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would gladly return the next time we’re in Cologne.

A decent spot on Heumarkt. Generous portions, and I’d rate the quality of the dishes I tried a 7 out of 10. I visited the restaurant in late April and naturally went straight for the asparagus dishes on the menu. The asparagus was superb, as were the potatoes that came with it; only the sauce Hollandaise slightly disappointed me, as it seemed like a store-bought mix to me. I had a really delicious mixed salad with chicken breast here. I’m glad that German restaurants generally offer a wider variety of salads with more greens, which wasn’t the case 10 years ago. The wine by the glass unfortunately turned out to be mediocre: neither the Chardonnay nor the Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris) had a distinct aroma or memorable taste. The apple strudel didn’t impress me either - with overly thick layers of dough and a slightly a slightly too bland, unremarkable taste. My friends however really liked the schnitzels and especially the Kaiserschmarrn. The service was quick and friendly. I regretted that we sat outside, since the interior turned out to be much more pleasant than the outdoor tables, and besides, it got freezing cold after sunset. The heat lamps under the umbrellas weren’t working. And

5* Highly recommended! What a lovely surprise! We arrived early for our booking and our table was already reserved and set up for us, it was early but the restaurant was already at full swing, busy but not too noisy. We ordered the crispy pork knuckle, crispy duck and house special sausages complete with sauerkraut and German coleslaw. We asked for our order to be adapted to suit our dietary requirements, gluten, dairy, eggs and nut free. They took our order, accommodated our request for a few swaps and also went back to the kitchen to check and made sure it was clear of the allergens we requested. The photo we took did not do them justice. The pork knuckle was crispy and so was the duck and the meat was still succulent. They came with a beer sauce and a red wine jus respectively and they complemented the meat so well. My son with allergies was super happy, being able to enjoy a variety of Bavarian food. They also gave us a complimentary hazelnut liqueur as a digestif, for the non allergy people of course! Super and attentive service and made us feel our special request not a big deal, big shout out to Dado!

Amazing German food, great beer, cute concept with the mugs, very friendly staff that guided us on what to order. Was a cosy setting with a relaxed atmosphere. Right in the heart of town! The veal schnitzel was decent, but lacked some of the crunch. The split pork had great sauerkraut but was a bit salty.
