Nürnberg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in Nürnberg, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

It is what you expect of a hotel by the road. We stayed here for two nights in a family room. The room was small, but sufficient for two nights. The beds were good, the AC was working. The hotel was close to the U-bahn. This is really all we expected. A big bonus is that there is a supermarket with bakery just around the corner, so we could get refreshments from there. The biggest downside was the noise level. Our room was situated on the same floor as the reception and breakfast area and around 6 in the morning they started wheeling around carts to prepare for breakfast, I assume. This sounded like trains were coming through the hallway and woke us up several times. I cannot comment on the breakfast itself as we didn't take it at the hotel.

We don't have very good experiences about this hotel. When we first arrived, we were a bit early. So we wanted to let reception know that we've here waiting in case room is ready. But there was two female staff at the reception and as tourists when we speak English, they looked very surprised and they gave the all answers in German. Even when we didn't understand and every other hotel helped us as tourists, they didn't even try to help or communicate. I mean this is a hotel for guests right? I don't think this is the right way to treat a guest and it was a very bad first experience. Then they also didn't show us a place to wait so we had to get out in the rain with heavy luggages and come back again later. Second time there was a male staff in the reception and he was very helpful. They have few parking spaces outside but not enough. You can use their underground parking space with your room code after paying 12€ for each day. Rooms were clean but no refrigerator or kettle. Also not very spacious. Location is good enough with car.
