The restaurant is in a very good location, and the outdoor dining area may offer views of the Cologne Cathedral. We ordered the pork knuckle, ox cheek, schnitzel, pretzel roll, and a side of fried potatoes, along with a glass of the house beer each. Despite the restaurant being busy, the food came out surprisingly fast. The food wasn't anything that made us say "wow," but it wasn't bad either. One thing worth noting was the tipping experience. Leaving a tip is customary where I come from, and I also generally tip as a matter of courtesy when traveling. However, it felt a bit strange to be directly asked to add a tip at the end of the meal. For me, tipping loses some of its meaning as a gesture of appreciation when it feels expected or pushed rather than voluntarily given.

Very good traditional Bavarian restaurant in Cologne. The Augustiner beer was fresh and really good. We tried several dishes and everything was tasty, with generous portions. The pork knuckle was especially good, very crispy outside and tender inside, and the other meat dishes with red cabbage and dumplings were also excellent. The atmosphere is lively and traditional, exactly what you expect from this type of German brewery restaurant. Service was good even though the place was quite busy. Definitely a good place if you want proper German food and a good beer in the center of Cologne. Would come back.

Being in Koln for last part of family vacation we wanted to try authentic German cuisine and resturant. This was recommended so we rended up for dinner. We ordered multiple dishes and we enjoyed them. The food was quite interesting, large portion and heavy TRADITIONAL GERMAN meal as expected. The seating was nice, we elected to sit inside to enjoy the authentic atmosphere as outside was full with tourists. The waitress was unfortunately very rude and tough ( my kids were surprised with her way of talking and reaction when there was a misunderstanding regarding the size of the bear cup - cost difference was 1€ for a bill which was 113€) which we ended up accepting the one that we got. When we started comparing the service level / style / delicacy / friendliness of many 🇫🇷 French waiters and waitresses that we have experienced during our recent trip the difference was huge. After all the night went on and we finished our dinner and walked away.

Fantastic spot for a fresh beer in Cologne. Right on Heumarkt, it’s the perfect place to sit outside, enjoy an Augustiner, and people watch. The beer was exceptional, the prices were fair, and the atmosphere was exactly what you’d hope for from a traditional German beer garden. Friendly service, plenty of seating, and a great place to spend an afternoon or two. I will be back!

Came To This Place on my visit to Cologne and I really had a good time. The food was absolutely delicious and it was very centric located. We ordered a different plate and we had such a great time here. Would definitely recommend if you wanna try some traditional Bavarian food. This is a place that you do not want to miss the beer is also really great
