For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.
Opening hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–10 pm. It is closed on Tuesday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Zum Metzger Rudi on 089 32667438; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses also take enquiries and bookings by e-mail or WhatsApp. Its website is metzger-rudi.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

the food was excellent, enviroment also, if you are looking for a traditional bavarian restaurant is really worth it

What an experience. I ended up there because it was the only restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. Let’s put it this way: you won’t leave hungry, but you probably won’t feel the urge to come back either. The salad was oddly warm, and the Käsespätzle came with almost raw onions. Come on—it’s 2025, card payment should be a given.

Authentic and yummy Bavarian food with courtyard seating! The boss cooked me schnitzel because I was very hungry, even after they already closed the kitchen.

The place is in a great location, around a small park. It has a pub interior with many things you can discover (pay attention to a tiny pig in bavarian-style socks). Important notice: they do not accept credit cards, cash only. Food is cheap and fresh but nothing more. It is just good. You can eat for two people with one drink and dinner will cost ~25-30 euros. I think we could go to that place a few times per month if we live there permanently. Good for locals.

A traditional Bavarian restaurant (At Butcher Rudi) with a traditional menu. Food was good but service was very slow. We were there two and a half hours and had a main course and a dessert.
