München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

Outstanding!! The room was very clean! The receptionist, Mrs. Klink, was very helpful. She made me feel welcome.

The room was clean, and both the service and location were very good. The front desk employees—a lady and a gentleman who were on duty this Friday and Saturday evening—were both empathetic and friendly. The lady explained everything in detail, showed me how I could check out before the regular opening time, and even asked if I would like a breakfast bag to take with me. This level of customer service is, unfortunately, quite rare in Germany—so kudos!

This hostel is located very centrally, within walking distance of Munich Central station (Hbf). The rooms, toilets and showers were very clean. They serve good breakfast which is included in the price. I would very much recommend this hostel for a stay when in Munich.

The YMCA has the best service I've ever encountered at a hostel. They include breakfast that includes a wait staff. It's located in walking distance from the central train station.

Top stay! Loved it. Rooms were all clean and tidy including the breakfast and other dining rooms. Food was great all day, especially the breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help with extras and questions regarding Munich and the area. Defo recommend staying here. Five stars! Danke.
