About Wirtshaus Obacht Maxvorstadt

Als sich Anfang 2017 die Gelegenheit ergab, eine Augustiner-Gaststätte zu übernehmen und in ein modernes Wirtshaus zu verwandeln, gab es nicht viel zu überlegen. Der Name „Obacht“ – ein kaum mehr gebräuchliches bayrisches Wort – war schnell gefunden und die Idee eines Stadtteilwirtshauses war keine neue.

Während sich unser Viertel rund um den Josephsplatz seit Jahren verändert, wollen wir eine Konstante werden – ein Anlauf- und Treffpunkt für Alle: ob beim Ratsch an der Bar, bei frisch zubereiteten und meist nach uraltem Rezept kreierten Speisen aus Süddeutschland, beim Kartenspiel oder schlicht dem einen oder anderen Bier unter dem uralten Augustiner-Braukessel.

Wir wünschen jedenfalls stets gemütliche Tage und Abende im Obacht.

Very good wursts. They are also flexible with menu, you can change the side of the wursts. Nice place to eat and to drink a beer.

It was an amazing dinner. This is as good as German food gets and they have quite a lot of vegetarian options. We were attended by Genesis and she helped us with everything, she even attended us in our mother tongue and gave us Speisekarte in Spanish :) It is a really good place!

Very good service! The staff took our order (for 8 people!) and advised us regularly how long it would take for the food to arrive (which is great!). Good beer and wine. We are from Canada and I would recommend highly for anyone visiting Munich 👍🏻

A lovely restaurant with Bavarian cuisine. I was pleasantly surprised to spot a few Swabian dishes on the menu as well. Make sure to book in advance, even on a weekday - it gets busy!

Very friendly service, nice and quiet place. The food was ok but didn't really blow us away. The dishes were notably salty and some ingredients were deep without that being mentioned in the menu. The meat was really well made! And the idea of a Chanterelles soup very exciting
