Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–12 am. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 0931 54080. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 1,747 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded deutsche & regionale küche in Würzburg.

Würzburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Excellent courtyard venue. Delicious Franconian food and of course wine from the vineyard. If you have an hour the tour next door is fun, as long as you know German. Attentive and friendly service. Recommended

It was a big disappointment although I had very low expectations. Stuff and atmosphere were quite good but food was less then average . We paid 90 euro for 2 yet I wish we just got Döner. We could have been more satisfied

Great selection of food and drinks. Pictured here is the wild boar. Enjoyed drinks in the courtyard with colleagues.

Very good venison steak. Good service. Clean and quiet. We went there to visit the winery on Sunday and found out the winery is closed on Sunday, but the restaurant is open, so we still got to try out their wine. We went there in the afternoon so only a couple customers at that time, no reservation needed.

Delicious food, great service, and of course, excellent wines. The only downside is the prices, which are a bit on the high side… but the food feels incredibly homemade and tasty, even though it doesn’t look very fancy. That’s why the place still keeps its five stars from me!
