Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Würzburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Würzburg is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Exceptional food, one of the best schnitzels I have ever had. Super service. Great central location, but nice and quiet. Extensive wine list for those who like that.

I visited this restaurant in Würzburg on a friend’s recommendation, and it was an excellent choice. Every dish we ordered was outstanding, and the waitress’s wine recommendation was absolutely perfect. It was such a delicious and memorable dining experience that I would love to visit again with my family!

Food was pretty good and ambiente is really nice. Note for vegetarians: Dishes with parmesan cheese are labelled as vegetarian on the menu. Probably needs to be clarified before ordering whether the cheese is actually without animal rennet. I went with the vegan daily option instead, which was nice.

Absolutely delicious food. The wine, the schnitzel and kaiserschmarrn all tasted top notch. We were lucky to get a table for two but would recommend reserving a table during busy days since the place is quite small. The vibe was a mix of fine dining and family run restaurant. The prices were slightly expensive compared to other places around the area but I feel it was absolutely worth it since the food is well seasoned and flavourful. Definitely recommend this place!

Just when I thought that I’d know all kinds of sausages out there, I was surprised by a dish that was called “Blaue Zipfel” (= “Blue Tips”). The sausage was absolutely delicious but I never had it served and cooked in it’s on juices pretty much with some veggies. It’s been a delight. 👌🏼 We kept it a little bit more down to earth today and were really happy with what we got. The potato soup was not too impressive but everything else made the cut. 😊 This restaurant is really quaint and comfortable. Generally a quite nice late lunch experience. 👍🏼
