Recently, I visited St. Peter Church in Cologne, Germany, and it was a very peaceful and memorable experience. As soon as I entered the church, I felt a sense of calm and silence. The atmosphere was very different from the busy streets of Cologne outside. I was impressed by the beautiful architecture and the combination of historical and modern elements. St. Peter is a historic Gothic church, but it also has contemporary artworks and is known as a place where art, music, and religion come together. (KoelnTourismus) One of the things I especially enjoyed was taking some quiet time to look around and reflect. The peaceful surroundings gave me an opportunity to forget about everyday stress and simply enjoy the moment. I also found the artworks inside the church very interesting and meaningful. Another highlight was seeing the connection between the church and art. St. Peter is home to the famous painting The Crucifixion of St. Peter by Peter Paul Rubens, as well as modern works by artists such as Gerhard Richter and Eduardo Chillida. The whole church has all the stained glass and everything to do with religion covered not suprising the people covering anything religious. It seems to be a never ending trend to destroy. Disgraceful. Two stars because there was one mother mary and jesus uncovered. So a star with that.

St .Peter steht in Köln für Rubens und Kunst . St.Peter bezw. Der Pfarrer fördert gerne auch die Künste der Kinder . Daher waren wir wieder bei. Krippenspiel " Hallo Jesus " wurde uns von den Kindern präsentiert. Ein sehr sehr schönes musikalisches Krippenspiel. Die Kinder haben wunderbar gesungen . Uns gefiel die gekürzte Version nicht soo gut . Es fehlten die drei Könige ,die sonst einzeln zur Krippe zogen. St Peter hat außerhalb von. Weihnachten ,einen leeren Kirchenraum. Ohne Bänke und Stühle, so kann man bei Ausstellungen die Kunst auf sich wirken lassen.

Jesuiten Kirche und Kunst-Station mit wechselnden Aktionen, Installationen, Ausstellungen. Ein echter Rubens (die Kreuzigung Petri) ist ein weiteres Highlight. Hier wird man freundlich begrüßt und es ist meistens jemand vor Ort, der Zeit und Muße hat, Fragen zur Kirche zu beantworten. Pfarrer Stefan Kessler SJ macht einen sympathischen Eindruck. Ich werde hier bestimmt noch öfter auftauchen und weiteres berichten.
