The "youngest" of the large romanesque churches of Cologne, built in the second half of the 13th century. It preserves some precious frescoes and stained glass from that period in its apse as well as numerous other medieval artefacts and is absolutely worth visiting.

No tickets necessary. (Answer to question below.) Beautiful ceiling architecture and designcs. Stained glass windows of note. The lower middle window directly behind the altar, is designed by glass artist, Will Thonett. It replaces a window destroyed in 1946 during WWII.

St. Cunibert Basilica is the youngest of Cologne’s twelve Romanesque churches, dating back to 1247. Close to the Rhine in the old town, it still has beautiful 13th-century stained glass windows. Despite damage over the years, the church has been beautifully restored and is well worth a visit.

Amazing and awesome, a really beautiful medieval church. This is the youngest of the medieval Romanesque churches in Cologne - yet still it dates back to middle of the 13th century, to 1247. It suffered severe damage in the WWII bombibmngs and was restaurated in the 1950's (work completed in 1975). It was "promoted" to the status of minor basilica by pope John Paul II in 1980's

St. Kunibert is one of the twelve Romanesque basilicas of Cologne. It is located near the Rhine in the northern old town. The three-aisled church building is Cologne's youngest among the large Romanesque churches and has the most impressive silhouette in the city panorama north of the gothic Cologne Cathedral. The late date of their construction is likely to be the cause of their very self-contained and rich design.
