For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.

Opening hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 8:30 am–5 pm. It is closed on Monday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 97318082. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, qr-scan.opentable.com.

Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 324 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded cafés & kaffee in München.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I stumbled across Sebastian’s Cafe during my first visit to Munich and it was easily one of the highlights of my trip. It’s a true hidden gem tucked away from the busy tourist spots with such a lovely & relaxed atmosphere. The food was absolutely incredible & beautifully presented, fresh, and full of flavour. We had the avocado and hummus toast topped with pomegranate seeds and sesame, served alongside a fresh salad, and the ricotta toast with juicy peaches, walnuts, and a drizzle of honey. Every bite tasted as good as it looked! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Service was quick without feeling rushed, and you could tell they really care about the quality of both the food and the customer experience. If you’re looking for somewhere that serves fresh, healthy, and beautifully crafted brunch in Munich, I can’t recommend Sebastian’s Cafe enough. I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m in the city. A genuine hidden gem that deserves all the praise!

I had higher expectations for this place. Prices are high for the quality and size of the dishes the restaurant offers. Any of the sourdough bread dishes, you can easily assemble in 5 minutes or less at home. The service was ok, the (German) waitress kept speaking to us in English even after we ordered in German. The food arrived quickly tho. My aunt said she really liked the avo bagel with hummus. The presentation looked very aesthetic and instagrammable, but for me the flavour, quality and quantity of the food is what matters the most.

Incredible coffee, food and service. We came here right off the plane and it was such a great introduction to the city. The weiß-wurst was excellent and the breakfast croissant so fresh and tasty. All paired with one of the best cappuccinos of my life. Lots of locals here and the server was so polite and entertained me practicing my basic German with him. Loved this spot!

So… I went in for icecream. It looked ok. It was PERFECT. truly. But before Sebastien scooped it, I accidentally looked at the coffee cake. Ok one coffee cake to go. Then, I thought I have to wash down the coffee cake (which didn’t need it) because it was so moist and perfect. Before I paid, the cannoli caught my eye and I was hooked. Before I could Say “cannoli” Sebastien said “the orange peel covered fig is to die for…” omg!!!! Ok… one cannoli to go as well AND Sebastien was now feeling me and threw in the fig for free. Beautiful family run business with a smile AND love. And it shows. A true GEM in the otherwise tourist trap of downtown Munich. Thank you Sebastien 🙏🏼🥷🏻❤️ you got me.
