My wife and I dined here on a Friday evening, fairly busy. We did not have a reservation but fortunately were able to be seated at the bar (I would recommend a reservation if you want seating at a table, otherwise come early). My German is pretty bad but the gentleman bartending was very hospitable and could speak English. The menu is German only so come prepared. The food was exceptional. The Schäufele (pork shoulder) was genuinely the best that I have tried in Germany. It had a delicious crackling, was perfectly cooked and paired with an incredibly flavoursome sauce reduction. The Kloß (Knödel) side with it had just the right texture, a little sticky with bounce but not gluggy. I had the opportunity to try their Eierlikör (egg liqueur similar to eggnog) which was amazing. It had a delicious creamy texture and flavour with the perfect balance of rum. We had 1L of beer, the Nürnberg sausage with potato salad and an additional dish Spätzle with mushroom sauce. All of which were delicious. Prices are very good and serving sizes are generous. We had a great evening. If you had one place to choose for dinner while visiting Nürnberg don't miss out on Schillerklause!

I am glad I booked a table. Both the fried fish and the red Bier were delicious. The price was quite reasonable. The middle size was much larger than I expected. Might be better to order a small one. My mom wasn't able to finish hers and by finishing part of hers, I had to skip my dinner that day😂

Delicious Franconian food and super friendly service. We were with out 3 month old daughter and the staff were great with her. The best food we had during our stay in Nuremburg - highly recommend.

Honestly, German food at its best. First you have to know a little German here to get by. So, set this expectation before you go. The staff was very friendly and nice. The woman who served us didn’t hover but was very attentive to what we needed. She made local recommendations that were amazing. Come here with cash. This place doesn’t take Visa. But this isn’t just here this is German wide. Price wise this place was a solid deal from the food to the beer. But be aware some of the portions are American size so you might not eat it all. Bottom line if you are in the area go and try this place out. When I go back to Nuremberg this place is on my list to go to again.
