Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.
Opening hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 6 pm–12 am. Note that it does not open on Monday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 485675. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, rue-des-halles.de.
Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 362 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded restaurants in München.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I decided to treat myself on my birthday and visited on December 6. The service was wonderful and very caring. The food was absolutely delicious - I ordered a Kir Royal with oysters, followed by soup and fish. I was very satisfied. It feels like a perfect place for a cozy dinner, whether with family, friends, or even just by yourself.

We hosting dinner for 12 pax company event. There were another group hosting similar company event concurrently. We were told that this restaurant tuning through second generation and the new owner sustain the management styles, and hence they have regular supporter. Though this was my first time visiting this French restaurant in Munch. Service was fast considering the number of staff they have. Food quality meeting my expectation. What exceeded my expectations was the egg plant vegetarian version, the species that the chef used were matching of that of South Asia, pleasant surprise as my guest who ordered this dished came from South Asia. This is a compliment for sure. And next, the brûlée…the caramel has a reasonably strong hint of smoked process, and the brûlée infused with ginger taste as well. Somehow this unusual combinations immediately rise my childhood memory of the Hainanese loaf bakery shop in Malaysia during the 70s. Really enjoy this smoked brûlée. Will come again for sure.

It was s good surprise in Munich - food such foie gras or lamb was really good and the recommendation of wines/champaigne and other spirits to pair was really smart. Is a French coin not to miss. The Service was really welcoming and taking care of the customers all time.

Certainly the best customer services I have ever had in Munich in the last 9.5 years! I went there with my girlfriend for our anniversary. I mentioned in my reservation that she cannot eat gluten. They certainly paid attention to that and said at the beginning of our arrival that we can just feel free to order and they will make the adjustments necessary. This relieved us a lot of stress of worrying that she might end up unwell after a nice dinner. The decor is simple but stylish. The waiter was also super attentive. For example, he spotted that I was looking for someone to help us taking a picture etc. But he also has the wittiness of a Frenchman (even though he said that he’s not French). The food makes you feel like homemade but not pretentious. Absolutely awesome and highly recommended!

The sound of it´s name makes my mind go back to the "Metropolitan" station in Paris with its busy livelihood in the 1er arrondissement, very close to the "Bibliothèque du cinéma François Truffaut" and the " Forum Des Halles" immense structure with restaurants, cinema, shopping center and leisure. The restaurant offers an excellent price/food value with an very interesting menu.Hosted by a professional young team with deep gourmet knowledge and a wide wine connaissance.Extraordinary service, very friendly and polite and specially insightful. Definitively to recommend and I know I'll certainly be returning soon. Little UPDATE: Still after all this years im always very delighted to go there.
