Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.

Opening hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 5–10 pm. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Restaurant Kaminstube on 089 429190; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses also take enquiries and bookings by e-mail or WhatsApp. More information is available on its website, hotel-am-moosfeld.de.

Customers rate it 4.3 out of 5 on Google across 263 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded restaurants in München.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

I tried the local steak speciality, and next day the smoked susage. Neither worth its price. The steake was stated as "beef medallion" it was not. I asked it for medium rare, I got it almost well done. The fried "smoked susage" was disappointment too. There was no trace of the so called smoking and it was dry as the dessert. Saturday night was a disaster. Waited 30 minutes after got the menu to ask my order. The waiter and waitress was exhauseted and stressed. They cannot notice the people wanted to order, pay or ask something. It was a full house but this is not an excuse. Sunday was a little bit better because when I arrived there was not that much people, but the service was not felt better. This place is under a 4 star Hotel.

Simple and tasty Very friendly staff and real German-sized portions! Straightforward, honest food — nothing fancy, but everything was fresh and well-prepared.

Restaurant Kaminstube is a cozy, traditional restaurant located in the basement of a hotel, offering a warm Bavarian atmosphere with classic wooden decor. The food was well-prepared and flavorful. We tried several dishes including grilled sausages with sauerkraut, fried fish fillet with potato salad, and a pork steak with roasted potatoes — all of them were satisfying and came in generous portions. The Franziskaner Weissbier was a perfect match for the hearty meals, and the digestif (schnapps) served at the end was a nice local touch. The service was polite and efficient, with the staff making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Overall, it’s a great place to enjoy authentic Bavarian dishes in a calm and welcoming environment. Not overly touristy, and definitely worth a visit if you’re staying at the hotel or nearby.

Good food. Good value for money. Warmly decorated dining area, wooden furniture mostly. We stayed in the near for nearly a week and went to Kaminstube a few times to eat for the evening meal. And we enjoyed the meals with good portion and good prepared and good taste.Just the noodles caprese could have been seasoned a bit more with salt and pepper. Alltogether it is recommendable.

Excellent and tasty Bavarian food. Jägerschnitzel mit Spaetzle was fantastic. Service is efficient. Spaetzle just a bit salty, but very good and traditional. Very handy when you’re staying at the hotel. Opens at 5:00pm, if you’re hungry you gotta wait.
