Regensburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Well worth the experience. We had a very pleasant week in spring of 2026 staying at Christine's apartment. A well appointed three room apartment in an ultra quiet location, with lovely views back towards Regensburg. Christine is very accommodating and helpful - and an excellent host. Regensburg itself far exceeded our expectations, with biking, river cruises, Roman history, museums and a large pedestrian core highlighting its medieval architecture.
