About Pâtisserie | Café Dukatz

Pâtisserie | Café Dukatz is a café in München, Bayern. It is listed at St.-Anna-Straße 11, 80538 München-Altstadt-Lehel, which places it among the local businesses of München that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 07:30–19:00. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 089 23032444. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is dukatz.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 534 reviews, which is a strong result for a café in München and suggests consistent service.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

The coffee was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. One young barista put a lot of care into making each coffee, which I really appreciated. However, because the same person was preparing drinks and serving customers inside, wait times became longer. The biggest issue is the space. It’s a very small and narrow café with only a few outdoor seats. It was difficult to move around, and I ended up standing inside for about 15 minutes with little fresh air, trying not to disturb people who were seated while waiting for a spot. The coffee is definitely worth the wait, but I think the café would benefit from a different service concept—perhaps serving takeaway orders through a window to reduce crowding inside. The cakes were good, but I found them quite expensive for their size.

A truly outstanding patisserie in Lehel! The selection of pastries is excellent – everything looks beautiful and tastes just as good. You can really tell that a lot of care and quality goes into the products. The young staff is especially friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which creates a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable. The coffee is very good, and they also offer fresh juices and other drinks, making it perfect not just for a quick stop, but also to sit down and enjoy some time. Overall, a lovely spot for high-quality pastries, great coffee, and friendly service – an absolute recommendation!

I know this place has a great reputation but I could only rate them with four stars. Perhaps it’s what we got when we went - husband and I both got a cup of black coffee. I went with a spinach piadina while husband selected some sort of a quiche. Service was friendly enough. The atmosphere in the cafe was nice and quiet. More people chose to dine outside. I must admit some of the pastries did look appealing.

Located in a nice square this cafe could be much more. We got there in the afternoon, so it was not a surprise many pastries were already gone. Still, we find the display of pastries less enjoyable than what we had seen in the pictures. The staff talked to us very gently but when asked to clean the table we wanted to use they barely wiped the surface after removing the many empties that were on. The patties were ok but not exceptional as I was expecting from the ratings. The bathroom is in a different building, right next door. We found that weird, in particular for a city with monumental buildings like Munich.

Great coffee let’s start with that! Very cozy environment, staff is extremely friendly and caring. Each item is a little gem , transporting you to a different country while staying in Munich. If you have a sweet tooth and love coffee you’ve got to stop here. Bonus points: The prices are very reasonable for Munich
