Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.
Opening hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 6 pm–12 am. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 94428279. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, malvamuenchen.de.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.8 out of 5 from 118 reviews, which is a strong result for a restaurant in München and suggests consistent service.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Excellent atmosphere and very creative dishes, mainly vegan or vegetarian. Unfortunately though, you might still feel hungry thereafter as portions are relatively small. The menu price (€85 for 4 courses) is OK, but not cheap either given the small portions.

Lovely restaurant, cozy atmosphere (zero coming and going) with everyone enjoying yummy courses, presented with explanation and purpose. Owner is charming, chef also

I went there for a birthday dinner but was disappointed. Although the service was friendly and the atmosphere was cozy, the kitchen seemed overwhelmed, and we had to wait a very long time (3h for appetizer, soup, main dish and desert) for our food. To make things worse, there was a hair in my main course. They replaced the dish, but we didn’t receive a proper apology or any kind of gesture from the kitchen. For the high prices they charge, I found this unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my friends—there are plenty of better fine dining options in Munich.

Disappointing food at a price that is far from being justified. While the wine pairing was quite correct, the dishes didn't meet the expectations for a tasting menu that seemed to be a pure hype in the Munich gastronomy. Every component was perfectly cooked, but the whole was just a big nonsense (at least for me, of course). The simpler dishes were great though... So I guess, like often times, less is more.

Food was really good, especially the sorbet. Price also pretty good considering the quality. Service ok, small mishaps but friendly, still finding their routines just after opening I guess.
