Regensburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Regensburg is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

I had a wonderful experience at St. Hedwig Hospital during the birth of my baby. I stayed in the hospital for 5 days, and throughout my stay, all the doctors, nurses, and staff treated me with kindness, patience, and genuine care. As a first-time mom, I was nervous and had many questions, but the staff always took the time to help and support me. They handled me with so much love and professionalism, making me feel comfortable and safe at every step. I am truly grateful for the excellent care I received during and after my normal delivery. Thank you to the entire team at St. Hedwig Hospital for making this special time in my life such a positive and memorable experience. I highly recommend this hospital to other mothers and families. Thank you so much😊

I have a lot to say about my experience with this hospital during pregnancy and was supposed to deliver here. For 12 weeks, an enormous amount of fear was instilled in us. We were repeatedly told that it was essentially inevitable that I would hemorrhage and that I had to give birth in a hospital. After two previous home births, we had originally planned another home birth. However, the level of fear presented to us was enough to make us reconsider and proceed with a hospital birth. At one appointment, an OB told me verbatim, “Write up a birth plan so we know how to deviate from our standard of care.” So that is exactly what we did. We spent hours carefully writing it. Our plan simply stated that we did not want interventions unless there was a true medical emergency. They did not like that. The reality is that they view any woman in labor as a liability that must be managed. When we returned to discuss the plan with the same OB who encouraged us to write it, she informed us that the hospital could not accept the birth plan. Strangely, at that point, the concerns that had been emphasized for 12 weeks—my supposed high risk of hemorrhage and the velamentous cord insertion that had pr

I’m very glad we chose this hospital over any of the other ones available through Tri-care. The midwife Sabine spoke very good English and was comforting to my wife after 18 hours of labor and we can’t thank her enough for her help and experience. The other midwife Hannah was excellent with the post delivery care of both my wife and my daughter. Everyone was extremely professional and supportive, I can’t recommend them enough.

My wife and I were initially very impressed with this hospital, having heard great things from other doctors and friends. We traveled an hour to get here, went through the intake process, and my wife shared her medical history, including some traumatic experiences, with the doctor. The staff scheduled us for a "gentle C-section," which significantly relieved my wife's stress and anxiety which has been plaguing her the entire pregnancy. However, right after scheduling the procedure, we were informed that, due to staffing shortages, the hospital would not be able to accommodate us. Despite our attempts to speak with management, we were met with unresponsiveness, and no one answered their phones. This abrupt change and lack of communication have left us feeling frustrated and abandoned. We chose this hospital for its excellent reputation and compassionate care, but our recent experience has been deeply disappointing.

I am happy that our daughter was born in this clinic. I had a difficult case, other doctors would not even undertake what the dear Mrs. Angela Koeninger did. Thanks to her and the entire professional team I successfully gave birth to my little Lilia. My daughter and I stayed at the clinic for a week and all the time I felt very comfortable and was surrounded by the attention of the staff. The staff is very, very qualified. Despite the complexity of my case, I was not worried at all, because I knew that I was in excellent hands. Professor Angela Koeninger is a doctor from God. I will always be grateful to her. I wish your clinic all the best and I will definitely recommend this place.
