Located at Tal 15, 80331 München, HeimWerk Tal operates as a restaurant serving München in Bayern. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 9:30 am–12 am. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 089 896797600. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is heimwerk-restaurant.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.
Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 2,924 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded restaurants in München.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

My husband and I were in town from the states and ate here for a late dinner. Max was our bartender and server. He was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice and clean. They had a great playlist on! The food was great. We each got pea soup and pork schnitzel, vegetables, and fried potatoes. Beer was delicious!

Hello to Germans and foreigners alike. We ate here twice during our 9 day Munich, Germany trip. It's conveniently located near the Wow Museum and offers both inside and outdoor seating as well as clean disabled toilets on the ground floor. The cocktails are delicious and so is the schnitzel! We've had both the chicken and pork schnitzel burgers as well as the normal schnitzel, chicken bites, french fries and sweet potato fries. Loved the coleslaw and the warm hospitality. As people of colour we haven't felt this welcomed everywhere we go; thus we came back!... As well as for the delicious burgers. We love a juicy burger being from the USA and UK! ❤️ But adding the traditional flare of a schnitzel to it made it even better! We've had schnitzel at least 3-4 times since our arrival 6 days ago and by far this was the best! We ate it here first and it definitely set a high standard! Our visits were midweek lunchtime and Saturday for dinner. My only critiques would be that we had a cracked bowl that we didn't notice as it was filled with chips (that's a good thing!) and nothing is served with the burgers. I'd recommend serving them with coleslaw. Also, I mentioned liking the mugs and ask

The food and the atmosphere sitting along the sidewalk on a hot evening was perfect for our last night in Munich! The salad meal classic with the grilled goats cheese & honey was the best salad we’ve had… ever! The service from our waitress Julia was amazing! Thanks Julia for looking after us Australians 🇦🇺🇩🇪

We were here on a Saturday evening having an early dinner. Place was packed on the outside as the weather was great. We decided to get a seat inside. Menu had lots of options and the schnitzel was their signature. Having tried them in Singapore before, I was excited to try this one. I got the chicken as I was afraid the veal might be a bit to game for me. Love what then did with the menu offering both portions of snack size and main size. Overall service was great food was ok.

HEIMWERK TAL offers an impressive variety of Kaiserschmarrn—the selection alone is enough to make it worth a visit. The option to order snack-sized portions is a great idea, as it allows you to try several different dishes instead of committing to just one. We were also lucky to be served by a very kind Hungarian waiter. Beyond being helpful, he was genuinely friendly and smiling—it’s always a pleasure to experience such warm hospitality. The atmosphere of the place is lively and welcoming, and it was especially enjoyable to spend time there while watching the snowfall from inside. That little detail made the whole experience even more memorable. Another thing worth highlighting is their attention to ingredient quality and origin. They clearly place emphasis on sourcing, and most of their ingredients come from Bavaria, which adds an extra layer of authenticity to the dishes. Overall, a great spot with a good vibe, excellent Kaiserschmarrn options, and friendly service. Highly recommended.
