Eating out in Germany runs from a quick Döner at an Imbiss to a long evening in a Gasthaus, and a listing like this one is best judged on freshness, turnover and how consistent the reviews are rather than on decor. Lunch menus (Mittagstisch) are usually the best value, menu prices already include 19% VAT and service, and many kitchens close between lunch and dinner. Bakeries open early and are the one shop you can count on for a Sunday morning.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

The setting is warm and inviting, while the staff are friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. It's a place that will impress anyone who appreciates great cuisine. I visited Grapes Wine Bar yesterday with a friend, and overall we had a really nice experience. The atmosphere is lovely, with dim lighting and a cozy yet spacious dining room. The seating is very confortable. That said, it does get quite loud. The room is big, but between the crowd and the fairly loud music, it can be noisy. They offer an extensive wine list, with around 30 wines available by the glass, including whites, rosés, reds, and a few sparkling & sweet/dessert wines. The selection by the glass is particularly interesting. Prices range from about €8 to more than €30 per glass, so it’s definitely on the expensive side. However, the quality of the wines I have tasted was excellent — Solfare‘24, Barbaresco Rabaja‘16 and Château Suduiraut 1er Cru Classe‘01. For me, the main area for improvement would be the wine service. The staff is very friendly, but the way the wine is presented and poured could be more professional. The labels weren’t really introduced or explained, and one of the red wines was served a bit hastily. It wasn’t bad service, just not at the level you might expect for a wine bar with this positioning. The food, however, was great. I started with the beef t

Small restaurant and cocktail bar located inside a centrally situated hotel in Munich. Our group of three managed to reserve a table at the last minute, and the staff welcomed us warmly, seating us right away. Their friendliness made for a great first impression. Since there’s no tasting menu offered on Saturdays, we ordered a selection of entrées and a main course to share. The food was good, though not particularly memorable considering the price point. The wine list is extensive, but the markups are noticeably high, which is worth keeping in mind. The space fills up quickly, and once it does, the noise level rises significantly, making conversation a bit challenging. Still, despite the crowd and the acoustics, it turned out to be an enjoyable evening overall.

If you want a place with great atmosphere, delicious food and a wine list to die for, look no further. The place may be busy, but service is spot on and timely. The wine selection by the glass is very good, there is offer for all tastes and budget. The wine list by the bottle is great! I love that you can come here and eat late and enjoy great wine in a fine and hype lounge type setting. Warmly recommended.

Just been back and had a fantastic evening with amazing food. Everything was well prepared, fresh and delicious. Service was outstanding and the sommeliers wine recommendations spot on. Great place, always worth a visit. ======================= Fantastic wine bar with small food offering. The wine selection is outstanding, a very large menu. Justin explained patiently what we were heaving and gave us some amazing recommendations. Prices are fair for champagne and wines. The food was decent, the steak a bit chewy. Will be back.
