Passau is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in Passau, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

Stay away from this hotel. They canceled our reservation at the last minute, leaving us stranded after a long drive with our four kids. When I made the booking a month in advance, I even asked if I could pay immediately, but they told me payment would be made upon arrival. Then, at the last minute, they claimed my card was invalid and canceled our room. I called the manager to explain the situation, but instead of helping, he called me "stupid." The customer service was completely unacceptable, and we were left without a place to stay after a long journey. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The room was spacious and spotlessly clean, and the location is absolute gold. You’ll find plenty of shops, restaurants, and a gas station just steps away from the hotel. The underground parking is highly secure, offering convenient, direct elevator access straight to the hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and spoke fluent English, making communication completely seamless. Even though this was just a pit stop on our journey, it is definitely a place we will save for future travels!

We had a great stay! The bed was very comfortable, the location is excellent—close to the highway and with plenty of shops nearby. Highly recommended
