Passau is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Passau is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

The hotel was awesome, and the breakfast was excellent. The only downside was the parking. Due to its location, the hotel doesn’t have its own parking lot, so you’re forced to use public city parking.

Fantastic experience with mk hotels in Passau. Well designed ultra modern rooms that were exceptionally clean. They were located near the station, which is excellent for travellers and the windows must be triple-glazed as the rooms are very peaceful. They also have an excellent bike storage room.
