München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The hostel is well located, modern and very clean. Service is as good as expected in a youth hostel. Breakfast us very good. You will not get a better deal in Munich. I had a private room because I don't like mixed bedrooms. That's the only complaint I have, but it concerns all big city DJH hostels.

Terrible experience – avoid if you’re looking for peace and quiet We stayed one night at this hotel and it was a huge disappointment. The place was full of groups of teenagers running, yelling, banging on the walls, and even knocking on our door twice. It was impossible to rest or sleep properly. The worst part happened later in the evening: someone triggered the fire alarm on purpose, which forced the entire hotel to evacuate outside at 11 PM, in the rain. No real effort was made to ensure peace for other guests. Very disappointing for a hotel that’s supposed to offer a relaxing stay. We will not be coming back

For the price, this place delivered incredible value. Rooms were very clean, breakfast was great, but if you are visiting on holiday, expect to be far from many of the main Munich attractions, and also note that the hostel is in the midst of a major construction project. Surely the results will be amazing (I learned that there will be a new courtyard for example), but if your room is in building 2, you may need to walk through either a garage or a construction zone to get there for now.
