Augsburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The Martin Luther Museum is located within St. Anne's Church in Old Town. Entry is free and the museum makes for a great complement to the church where Martin Luther stayed in 1518. The museum includes a handful of rooms with exhibits describing Martin Luther, his time at the church and events which led to the Lutheran Movement and Reformation that sprouted from this region in German and spread across Europe in the early 16th-century. A visit to the museum is a great opportunity to learn about the early days of the Reformation and the role played by Martin Luther. You can leisurely go through the museum exhibits in 20-30 minutes. Allow and 15-20 minutes to explore the church itself as part of your sightseeing in this area of Old Town.

Klein aber fein, toll aufbereitete Wissensvermittlung an einem Originalschauplatz der Reformationsgeschichte - und das ganze gratis.Sehr zu empfehlen !

We spent a little less than two hours touring the church building and reading through the information about Martin Luther. It's not a comprehensive museum about Luther but certainly informs about what happened here and its importance. I appreciated the attempt to make connections to modern day issues and the explanation of events of the 1500s that shaped Luther's ability to confront the church.

Sehr sehenswert.

As a Lutheran, this museum was very interesting to visit. There is access to the Saint Anna church too and it's all free admission.
