Augsburg is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I went to the museum with my school. The guided tour was fairly nice. However, during the bag painting activity, the ladies were so rude and aggressive, they snatched the paint out of my hands when I wasn’t even finished!

Very interesting to see the history of industrial knitting. We had already some experience from older times, but our children could learn a lot. We also liked a small guided tour telling about how the machines are working. It's a pitty that the whole industry is going/gone to China.

One of the best museums I ever visited - if you are interested in Fashion, textile Industry, it’s history and technology - it’s worth visiting. Also kids will find a lot of interesting and interactive things. The special exhibition “Dirndl goes fashion” is fantastic! I enjoyed it very much.

Really amazing museum. There are a lot of interactive parts. English description would be nice.

An excellent place if you want to learn about the various intersecting histories of the world, trade routes and fashion in a matter of two hours :) a lovely souvenir shop and a cafe as well! It places Augsburg against a much greater context with a beautiful material narrative and a rich collection of maps, texts, and everyday items. A lot of description also offer critical insights into Germany society over time with the changing political circumstances within and outside Germany.
