About Café Schuntner

Café Schuntner is a café in München, Bayern. It is listed at Plinganserstraße 10, 81369 München-Sendling, which places it among the local businesses of München that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as frühstückslokal, coffeeshop, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.

Opening hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 9 am–5 pm. It is closed on Monday. Hours in Germany do change around public holidays, and many businesses close for a day or two over Christmas and Easter, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is 089 776393. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, schuntner.de.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 740 reviews, which is a strong result for a café in München and suggests consistent service.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. German addresses put the street name before the house number, followed by the five-digit postcode and the town, as in "Marienplatz 8, 80331 München". The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Such a cozy cafe! It has an old-school quaint vibe and the staff is very sweet. The prices are great too, it's nice to know you can get a simple omelette without being overcharged for nothing. Really good coffee too. It's almost like you're transported to the good ol' days where everything was simpler and sweeter.

Such a cool place. I love the fact it’s beautiful inside with its traditional decor and outside with garden. Cakes are home made and delicious. Breakfasts are varied, abundant, creatively served and very tasty. And service is so friendly! I loved it so much I decided to meet here every month for my book club appointments.

Really nice café in the area, also has been there for a long time as it keeps their traditional bavarian interior decor, it also serves really tasty cakes. +Recommend a lot their "New York Style Cheesecake" and their Sacher torte. ++They have good prices and servers good big portions of cake!

We came here on a good Friday morning and thankfully they were open! The staff are very friendly, the coffee is great (the flavoured coffee with hazelnut is pretty good), and the food is good! I love how warm and cosy the cafe is (there’s a semi-hidden second half of the cafe with more tables). The time they took to prepare our food was also pretty fast, which was great.
