About Ayinger am Rotkreuzplatz

Pachtübergabe, Wiedereröffnung am Donnerstag 13. August 2026

Ayinger am Rotkreuzplatz is a deutsche in München, Bayern. It is listed at Wendl-Dietrich-Straße 5, 80634 München, which places it among the local businesses of München that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11:30 am–11:30 pm. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 0157 74556339. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. Its website is ayinger-am-rotkreuzplatz.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 831 reviews, which is a strong result for a deutsche in München and suggests consistent service.

München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around München is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Is there a better place to be, than a restaurant/beer place in Germany? There can’t be many. This one was great, as the others are, but if anything the food was on the salty side - but that just means you need more beers. An easy solution.

A cosy Wirtshaus with a solid, down-to-earth menu. Most of the dishes were flavourful and well executed. The Fleischpflanzerl were a highlight - tender, juicy and served with a rich, smooth sauce. The Schnitzel were also great: thin, perfectly crispy and exactly what you hope for in a traditional Wirtshaus. Unfortunately, the Kaiserschmarrn was a letdown. It was too soft, lacked the characteristic caramelisation, and the portion size was small compared to what you typically get in Germany. Service was efficient, with food and drinks arriving quickly. Overall, good food with a few weak points — worth a visit, especially for the savoury dishes.

This restaurant is a traditional one: The old house, wooden indoors! It is traditional german style and cuisine. I loved it! The staff was fast and kind, the food delicious. The pricing is reasonable. Would definitely go again! Apparently it is a chain with multiple locations throughout the city ;)

Nice restaurant with lovely garden seating outside, located in a charming neighborhood. The food was prepared with care and tasted great. The main dish we ordered had a smaller serving size, but the flavor was fantastic. We especially loved their kaiserschmarrn, which was extremely flavorful and satisfying.

Amazing food and staff. The food was so good we went back for dinner every night - Dustin's added touch to traditional bavarian dishes is immediately noticeable, whether it's the fresh ingredients or the subtle but savory tweaks. The atmosphere was very nice and clean and the staff were super friendly. They also have an amazing schnapps offering, so be sure to check it out!!!
