For a place to eat or drink in Germany, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open today (many restaurants keep a weekly Ruhetag), does it take reservations for dinner, and does the menu suit your group. Tipping is modest, rounding up or adding 5-10% when you pay, and while cards are accepted in most places, cash is still the safe choice at bakeries, Imbiss stands and beer gardens. Tap water is not served automatically, and bottles you take away carry a Pfand deposit.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11:30 am–11 pm. As with most places, expect changes around public holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is 089 780167790. Calling ahead is the norm in Germany for reservations and for confirming that a small business is open that day; e-mail or WhatsApp is the common alternative if you would rather write than speak. More information is available on its website, asamschloessl.de.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 1,827 reviews, which is a strong result for a deutsche in München and suggests consistent service.
München is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. For directions in München, Google Maps and the DB Navigator app cover public transport times and walking routes, and most towns have well-marked cycle lanes. Local transport tickets must be bought or validated before boarding, and parking near busy streets is limited and metered.

Came here for lunch in late Spring. Beautiful beer garden, location with a lot of small details, the food is super tasty (but pricey). Service was fast and attentive. They offer high chairs. It gets quite crowded on the weekend, so either come when they open or make a reservation, even for lunch. Makes for quite a nice event location as well.

Great atmosphere and team will make you feel at home from the moment you step in! Add to that the delicious starters, amazing main courses and all with a sweet touch! I tried the burger as a main course and was amazed by the tastiness of the meat - excellent! The small nut cake with ice cream is something that I could eat almost everyday ;) Thumbs up!

This restaurant is a true hidden gem near the Isar, delivering an elevated take on traditional Bavarian cuisine. The menu is limited, but that focus clearly pays off—each dish is thoughtfully prepared, full of flavor, and executed to a very high standard. The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail are evident in every bite. The ambience is warm and traditional, creating an authentic Bavarian dining experience without feeling outdated. Combined with excellent, attentive customer service, the restaurant feels welcoming and well run from start to finish. Overall, it is a place that values quality over quantity and does so exceptionally well. I would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone seeking refined Bavarian food in a relaxed, classic setting.

Excellent evening in a cosy atmosphere. Highlights came with the dishes. The tomahawk was perfectly cooked and served with great veggies and pommes. Paris butter was the cherry on the cake. Nothing better than a red wine to pair with. The wine card is quite extensive from glasses to bottle, counting on French, Italian, German and Austrian vineyards. The hazel dessert was delicious with fondant Williams pears and hazel ice. From service to plates, I would recommend this place with no hesitation !

If you’re in Munich, don’t miss this exceptionally great place to dine. My friend and I reserved for dinner, arrived 30 mins early but was seated immediately. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, food came fast and in the right temperature. Food was delicious and flavorful, even the French fries. I am not big on apple strudel, but this one, I want to bring a whole pan back home! Price is reasonable too.
