When booking accommodation or travel services in Germany, confirm the check-in window, whether the rate includes breakfast and the local city tax (Kurtaxe or Bettensteuer), and what the cancellation terms are; pensions and Gasthöfe are often family-run and appreciate notice. Reviews that mention noise, bed size, Wi-Fi and cleanliness are usually the most useful. Prices jump around trade fairs, the Christmas markets, Oktoberfest and the summer school holidays, so book early for those dates.

No opening hours are on file. Hotel on 09131 9244700; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions, and many businesses also take enquiries and bookings by e-mail or WhatsApp. Its website is abhotel.de, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.5 out of 5 on Google across 210 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded hotels in Erlangen.

Erlangen is in Bayern, in the south, the country's industrial powerhouse around Munich and Stuttgart with the Alps and the Black Forest on the doorstep; winters bring snow and the occasional warm Föhn wind, summers are the warmest in Germany, and living costs are the highest. Getting around Erlangen is easiest by U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram and bus, all covered by the Deutschlandticket that is valid on local and regional transport across Bayern and beyond; parking in city centres is scarce and either paid or limited by Parkscheibe, so public transport or a bike is usually quicker than driving.

Small & neat hotel. Clean, friendly staff & located abt 10 mins walk from the city center. It's five min walk from Erlangen University Hospital. Great value for money! Btw public busses are free & function very well.

The hotel is located just 10 minutes walk by train station and 2 minutes by bus. Staff is really friendly and hospitable. Breakfast service is best.

Very clean, centrally located and good sized room. Everything you need. I stayed one night. The reception also spoke English which was greatly appreciated! Just know that you may have to climb stairs. But all in all, it's a great place for a quiet stay that's easy on the budget.

(photos made before leaving the room) Looked for a relatively cheap accommodation near the Erlangen city center for a weekend stay, and in that regard I'm overall happy with the hotel. Communication and service were great, and the room was clean and usable. The main observation regarding the accommodation was the noise, with rooms seeming to have failry thin walls, and the small shower tub with a shower curtain which made it even smaller (although it appears that other rooms had tubs with sliding doors, worth checking out).
