The concept is that you pick your own ingredients, while the soup base and toppings are free. They give you a huge bowl to fill, which makes it easy to overdo it, we each ended up paying around €25–30, which feels quite expensive. The server was unfortunately very rude and seemed annoyed when we took a moment to choose our soup. The soup itself was tasty, but the portions were way too big, we ended up taking about half of it to go.

The food is excellent, there's a good variety in ingredients and the options to mix your own dipping sauce is really nice! You can also adjust your own spice level, to your own tolerance. The service is quick and friendly enough, though you're doing most of it yourself anyways. It's not cheap, but the experience and the variety is worth it in my opinion :)

A good malatang in Cologne. The price is above average and the taste is okay-ish, I’ve tried a better malatang in Germany. I asked for the spiciest flavor but to me it was not super spicy. There’s a minimum order of 400g, which will cost you around 13€. Despite all that, I would still come back, because they have a huge selection of protein and veggies!!

杨国福 earns five stars on having duck blood alone. Lol. There’s a more elegantly decorated second floor for larger groups. The ground floor seeds, single diners and groups of up to four.

My family and I recently visited this place and had a fantastic time. The concept of building your own meal was really fun and engaging, offering a delightful twist on the usual Chinese dining experience. What truly stood out was the quality of the ingredients and the impressive variety on offer. There were so many fresh and interesting options to choose from, allowing everyone in the family to create a dish perfectly tailored to their tastes. From the pickiest eater to the most adventurous, everyone loved their food and had a great time putting their meals together. The only minor drawback we encountered was the minimum 400-gram ingredient requirement. While we appreciated the generous portions, none of us were able to finish our entire meal, which unfortunately led to some food waste. It would be great if there was a bit more flexibility with portion sizes to help reduce this. Despite that small point, the food was delicious, and the overall experience was very positive. We highly recommend this place for a tasty and enjoyable family outing!
