A very atmospheric and interesting museum that is definitely worth visiting in Cologne, especially if you enjoy history, medieval art, and quiet places with a special character. Museum Schnütgen feels different from a typical museum because the collection is shown inside the historic Church of St. Cäcilien. What I especially liked is the combination of art and architecture. The old church setting makes the sculptures, religious objects, textiles, and small historical details feel much more meaningful. It is not only about looking at exhibits — the building itself becomes part of the experience. The museum has a calm and almost peaceful atmosphere. It is a good place to slow down, look closely at the details, and discover a part of Cologne that is much older and more artistic than the usual tourist route. I also found this place with the help of the Penguindor app — the “penguin” that helps you discover interesting places nearby. Thanks to it, I found a museum that adds a deeper historical and cultural side to a visit to Cologne. Great Museum with an amazing collection, I loved the series booklets Kurzfuhrer for the museum to enhance the vist experience. I chose fur Kreative Kopfe, Neue Wege durch die sammlung and enjoyed it immensely PS Do two of the Prophets, seite 12, have the same textroll, translation?

Extensive collection of art from nearly Middle Ages to early renaissance. The setting is a modern building attached to a church. While the art is very interesting including some true masterpieces I also enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the quiet spaces as not many people flock to this wonderful museum.

A wonderful collection of medieval statues, carvings, relics, windows etc. Beautifully displayed in the old church of St Cecila. An ethereal atmosphere, much to appreciate. Some steps may be tricky for those with mobility difficulties but still plenty to see on the main level.
